Chuck Bartowski é um especialista em computação que trabalha com seu melhor amigo, Morgan Santos, em uma loja de eletrônicos. Chuck é um nerd viciado em jogos de computador que não consegue ter uma namorada sequer, apesar da ajuda de sua irmã, a doutora Ellie Bartowski. No seu aniversário recebe um email de um dos seus ex-colegas da faculdade – agora agente da CIA – que lhe mostra uma série de imagens que ele imagina ser de pouca importância. O que ele não sabe é que descarregou em sua mente uma base de dados com informações confidenciais do Governo. Esses dados são ativados em seu cérebo com singulares detonadores que lhe mostra imagens rápidas … Imagens estas que ele precisa aprender a decodificar.
